They just don’t make the grade

Large organisations don’t trust university grades – it’s official. They have started to design their own aptitude tests to differentiate between the thousands of 2:1 applicants they receive each year.

Organisations like John Lewis, Accenture and PWC are using a mix of scenario based questions and ability tests to support their decision making process. They are also requesting minimum A-Level grades to bolster the university credentials.

What does this mean for the future of graduate programmes? Have we reached the tipping point where organisations can no longer afford to recruit the wrong people?
